Events Adult Marketing for Small Business & Nonprofit Tuesday, September 23rd at 6 PM This interactive two-hour workshop, led by John Duesenberry, will guide participants through branding essentials, digital and social media marketing fundamentals, and leveraging AI tools like ChatGPT for content creation. Salem Witch Trials: Rebecca Nurse Saturday, October 11th at 3PM The events of the Salem Witch Trials were horrific and tragic, but still occupy the American consciousness.Molly Cornwell from Women in History will portray Rebecca Nurse, one of the people accused of witchcraft in 1692, and will share the story of the Salem Witch Trials. Elementary, My Dear Ritter: The Science of Forensics Friday, October 17th from 10AM - 5PM True Crime media has exploded in popularity in recent years. Explore the science behind criminal investigations through expert lectures, real case analyses, and interactive demonstrations. Chef Battle Friday, October 24th at 3 PM Chefs from The Cooking Caravan will square off in a culinary competition that features audience members as sous chefs and judges. There is never any meat, dairy, or nuts in these battles. Day of the Dead Celebration Saturday, November 1st at 3 PM Join us for a Dia de los Muertos party! Enjoy crafts, activities, food, and an opportunity to learn about the holiday and its traditions. Enjoy live cooking demonstrations featuring our new Charlie Cart mobile demonstration kitchen! World Culinary Excursions 1st Thursdays at 6PM Take a trip without ever leaving the library! Sample foods and learn about the history, culture, and cuisine that defines different regions. November: Italy December: Japan Kitchen Basics: Viral Salads of the Internet Thursday, October 2nd at 6PM Learning knife skills can make your time in the kitchen easier, more efficient, and maybe even fun! Gain cooking confidence while we practice basic cutting techniques on a variety of produce to create our own TikTok-inspired salads. Children’s Book Celebration Saturday, November 1st all day Celebrate Children’s Book Week with us! Stop by for meet and greets, storytimes, crafts, and more with The Pout Pout Fish, Pete the Cat, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Elephant and Piggie. This event is made possible by the Hindmarsh Foundation. Teen Book Art Saturday, September 27th at 2PM Get cozy crafting by making a fall decoration. Turn a book into a 3-D pumpkin or apple. Grades 4-12 welcome. Book Destruction Thursday, October 23rd at 3:30PM Rip, tear, and crush as you create your own masterpieces from book carcasses. Grades 4-12 welcome. Wicked Popular Silhouettes Friday, November 14th at 3:30 PM Celebrate the release of part 2 of Wicked by painting a Glinda & Elphaba silhouette. Registration is not required, but space will be limited to 15 and priority will be given to registrants. Grades 4-12 welcome. Kids & Family Storytimes Fall Series Sept 8th - Nov 5th Mondays, Tuesdays, & Wednesdays at 10AM Storytimes introduce your child to books, rhymes and rhythm, music and songs, flannelboard stories, taking turns, paying attention, and being in a group. All storytimes are different, just like your kiddos! Best for ages birth-5. Design & Discover 2nd Thursdays at 2PM Each month, discover a new topic through experiments, activities, crafts, and more. Best for grades 4-7. Meet Reptiles with Herps Alive Friday, October 10th at 1PM & 2PM Herps Alive Foundation is bringing lizards, snakes, and plenty of other scaly friends for you to learn about the care and rescue of reptiles. Attendance is limited to the first 80 attendees for each session, including grownups. This event is made possible by the Hindmarsh Foundation. Best for grades preK-3. Make a Difference Day! Thursday, October 9th at 6PM Help us give back! In this community service project, we will assemble food and hygiene kits to distribute through our Little Free Fridge. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, including students seeking community service hours. This project is made possible by ServeOhio.
