Ritter offers an ongoing schedule of hands-on computer classes. Click on the name of a class to bring up the registration screen.


  • Word 2
    When: Wednesday, April 29, 2015 – 6:30 PM – 7:45 PM
    Where: Computer Lab

    In this class, you’ll learn more formatting including adding bulleted lists, tables, page breaks, and columns. Basic Word or familiarity with it is required.

  • Excel 1
    When: Thursday, April 30, 2015 – 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM
    Where: Computer Lab

    Join in and learn the basics of Microsoft Office Excel 2007! For this class you will need to be familiar with Microsoft Word 2007 and basic Microsoft use.

  • Home Computer Maintenance
    When: Wednesday, May 06, 2015 – 6:30 PM – 7:45 PM
    Where: Community Room A

    For computer users who would like to know more about the nuts and bolts. Join us in a discussion about antivirus and anti-malware products and maintaining your computer with regular updates. This is not a class for beginners – a firm understanding of computer use is necessary for this class.

  • Word 3 – Pizazz!
    When: Wednesday, May 13, 2015 – 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
    Where: Computer Lab

    Learn to give your basic documents a more exciting look with clip art, AutoShapes, WordArt, text boxes and Smart Art. Basic Word or familiarity with it is required.

  • Excel 2
    When: Thursday, May 14, 2015 – 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM
    Where: Computer Lab

    One of the great features of Excel is the ability to formulate data within the spreadsheet. We will practice with a few simple formulas and explain the benefits of this feature.

  • Trace Your Roots
    When: Saturday, May 16, 2015 – 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
    Where: Computer Lab

    This is an introduction to Genealogy. We’ll discuss getting started, organizing your information, resources available at Ritter, online resources, and how to use the Ancestry database to access census, military, immigration, and other important records.

  • Nerds, Geeks, and Tech Dummies
    When: Tuesday, May 19, 2015 – 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
    Where: The Commons

    Bring your smartphones, devices and laptops. We’ll answer your questions and you can share your favorite tips and tricks. This informal group meets once a month to learn together about technology. Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level.

  • Mail Merge
    When: Wednesday, May 20, 2015 – 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
    Where: Computer Lab

    Learn how to take information from an Excel spreadsheet and merge it into letters, envelopes, and labels. We’ll be starting a contact spreadsheet in class, so feel free to bring your address book and a flash drive to save it on. Familiarity with Word and Excel is required.

  • Excel 3
    When: Thursday, May 21, 2015 – 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM
    Where: Computer Lab

    Learn to create graphs, change spreadsheet to easily present data, and other fun tricks that are available on Excel 2007. Beginning Excel is required.

  • Library Closed – Memorial Day
    When: Monday, May 25, 2015 – All Day

    The library is closed all day. We re-open Tuesday, May 26 at 9:30 a.m.
