Ritter offers an ongoing schedule of hands-on computer classes. Click on the name of a class to bring up the registration screen.

 

  • Digitize Your Genealogy
    When: Monday, April 28, 2014 – 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
    Where: Computer Lab

    Have fun and preserve those photos and records you have collected in your genealogy research. Power Point lets you enhance your photos with borders, backgrounds, and decorative embellishments. Familiarity with Microsoft Word is required. Bring some photos or documents on a flash drive or bring your laptop! CDs not recommended. Please call the library for a reservation or click below.

  • Preserve Your Family History
    When: Saturday, May 03, 2014 – All Day
    Where: Computer Lab

    Meet us in the computer lab and get assistance scanning your family documents. Digitize photos, newspaper articles and family stories. Bring a flash drive to save items or email address to store your keepsakes.

  • Online Privacy
    When: Monday, May 05, 2014 – 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
    Where: Computer Lab

    It’s Choose Privacy week! Learn about online privacy, shopping securely and password management. Find out more about your privacy options in the digital world.

  • 'Appy Hour!
    When: Monday, May 12, 2014 – 6:00 PM – 6:00 PM
    Where: Second Floor Tech Center

    Relax with new friends and enjoy a lively discussion about the latest and greatest apps. We will spend one hour introducing apps for every aspect of life. Maybe you will bring some app ideas of your own. Be sure to bring your tablet, iPad or smartphone. We’ll meet in the eTech Center upstairs by the fireplace. In May we will be featuring Travel planning apps. Please call the library or register below.

  • Evernote
    When: Wednesday, May 14, 2014 – 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
    Where: Computer Lab

    Would you like to organize your recipes? Need a place to keep ideas for decorating or gardening? This class will offer a brief overview of Evernote, an online place for organization.

  • Tech at Ten
    When: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 – 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
    Where: Endowment Room

    What could be better than a cozy morning spent learning and sharing with friends? We will share apps, websites, tips and tricks in an informal setting. This group will meet monthly to trade technology ideas, while enjoying coffee and cookies. You bring your favorite morning beverage and ideas – we will have a comfy corner and the cookies. We will meet in the Endowment Room. Please call the library or register below.

  • Windows 8 – introduction
    When: Wednesday, May 21, 2014 – 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
    Where: Community Room A

    If you’ve gotten a new computer recently, you probably have Windows 8 on it. In this class, we’ll start at the beginning and explore the tiles, desktop, apps, touch screen and other features you need to be familiar with. We’ll take the mystery out of it! Please bring your own Windows 8 laptop if you have one. If you’re considering getting a Windows 8 machine, you’ll welcome to come and watch the demonstration. This class will be in the Community Room since our lab computers do not have Windows 8 on them. Call to make a reservation, or register below.
