About 75 people enjoyed a dramatic performance by Joette McDonald last night. She brought to life Harriet Beecher Stowe, abolitionist and author of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”, using Stowe’s own words. Order a copy of the book then join us when Joette leads a group discussion Thursday, March 22.

There’s still time to sign up for a chance to read to Rusty, the friendly Australian sheep dog who is specially trained to listen while children read to him. Chairman Robbie Brown congratulates Sandy Bennett, the new Chocolate Champion of Vermilion. Sandy took the blue ribbon with her Chocolate Chip Cookie DoughTruffles. Celia Drop won second place with Oreo Cheesecake Truffles. Doris Stwan won third place with her Texas Sheetcake. Honorable Mentions went to Shirley Koachway, Dr. John Cann and Connie Thomas. More than 1,000 visitors enjoyed nearly 100 entries at the festival this year.
