Buy gently used books, videos, music and more every Monday through Saturday at Friends of Ritter’s ongoing book sale. The book-sale shelves, which are located just inside the main entrance, include materials pulled right from the library’s collection and are restocked often. Most items are $3 or less! Children’s books are just 50 cents.

Two out of every three Americans are overweight. The number of diabetics is rapidly increasing, and almost one out of every two of us is taking a prescription medicine. Americans are spending more and more on health care and yet we’re becoming sicker. Shirley Nain, certified in plant-based nutrition from Cornell University, will talk about how to eliminate Type II Diabetes and reverse and prevent heart disease by adopting a plant-based, whole-food diet at a free program Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. Plant-based snacks will be served. The Vermilion Community Concert Band entertained about 70 people last night with beautiful holiday music, under the direction of George Harizal. Friends of Ritter treated the crowd to cookies and cider afterward.

Ring in the holidays at Ritter! Friends of Ritter invite the public to a free holiday concert Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. The Vermilion Community Concert Band will play a selection of holiday favorites and Friends will serve cookies and cider.
