The fish are in the house! Dan Lehky and Ed Conn, experts from Salty Critter, install live rock, coral and fish, including Gobis, Damsels, Orchid Dottybacks, Fire Shrimp and Cleaner Shrimp. Plus one little stowaway - a crab who’d been hiding up in a piece of coral!

Every student who plays miniature golf at Ritter Public Library’s grand opening will be eligible to win one of three $100 gift certificates for Bicycle Bill’s!

The grand opening on Saturday, March 13 begins with a dedication ceremony at noon. The public is invited to stay for an afternoon of free fun for the whole family including 18 holes of miniature golf inside the library. No reservations are necessary. Golf from 12:45 to 5 pm. At the 18th hole, enjoy free refreshments and enter to win the grand prizes. Meet the Cleveland Cavalier’s mascot “Moondog” and “Stomper” from the Lake Erie Crushers from 1 to 2 pm. Enjoy a fun music concert for the whole family at 2:15 pm.

Three new self check-out stations are up and running! Alice Cleaver finds it’s easy as one, two, three. Scan your card, scan your material, print a receipt. Chuck Service tried it too and said, “It’s pretty cool, and easy to use.”

We’ve listened to your comments and we’re working hard to make some improvements. The DVD shelves have been modified, re-organized and cleaned to make them easier to use. Esther Moos and Carolyn Simmer like that!

And the drive-up book drop will be lowered! (as soon as the weather permits.) Approach the drive-up lane on Ferry Street heading west to access the drop from the driver’s side of the car.

Workers are currently remodeling the area just inside the front doors, and are building a new customer service desk. The plastic drapes in the children’s department have been taken down and shelves are being installed there. The new saltwater fish tank will go right in the middle!
