Chief Tecumseh!

Hear the fascinating tale of Tecumseh, the Shawnee leader who fought for the future of his people against William Henry Harrison in the War of 1812, at a free program Monday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. Speaker Dr. George Vourlojianis, chair of the history department at Lorain County Community College, is the author of two books about Ohio’s military history. Tecumseh and his brother, the Shawnee Prophet, had allies in the British, who hoped to create an Indian state in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. But America’s key victories on Lake Erie ended British control and the hopes of the tribes who lived along its shores.
